COMMERCIAL GENERAL LIABILITY
The corner stone of any production insurance, Commercial General Liability, aka General Liability (GL) covers third-party claims from:

Personal/advertising injury

Non-Owned Auto Liability
Limits options are $1,000,000 up to $5,000,000*

Comprehensive Production portfolio with covers such as:

Limits vary based on the production's budget*
PRIMARY AUTO LIABILITY
This coverage is for rented production vehicles in provinces that do not have a provincial program, such as Alberta and Ontario.
Liability limit is $1,000,000*

UMBRELLA LIABILITY
Excess coverage that provides additional limits beyond the primary liability policies such as:
General Liability
Primary Auto Liability
Property Damage Liability (found under the Entertainment Package)
Limits options are generally $1,000,000 up to $19,000,000
GUILD UNION TRAVEL ACCIDENT
Specialized coverage for union and/or guild members (e.g., SAG-AFTRA, DGA) covering travel during production (car, train, bus, or plane). This may be a required policy to ensure accident benefits are provided.
Limits are up to $1,000,000 and benefits are paid to the benefactor or their family, not production. Non-union / guild are covered up to $100,000.
E&O
Protects and indemnifies against claims of negligence, copyright infringement, defamation, plagiarism, or intellectual property issues in content creation/distribution.
Limits, deductibles, terms vary and are often determined by contractual requirements.

GENERAL LIABILITY GLOBAL EXTENSION
For an additional premium, the GL can be endorsed with a global extension to allow for claims to be made and handled outside of Canada or the USA.
INTERNATIONAL AUTO LIABILITY
International auto liability and property damage liability covering accidents worldwide for non-owned or hired autos.
Claims or suits are covered when made outside of Canada.
Limits up to $1,000,000
FOREIGN VOLUNTARY WORKERS' COMPENSATION
Covers bodily injury from accidents or illness/disease for cast or crew working outside of their home country. Coverage includes:
Emergency medical treatment and travel expenses for sick or injured North American employees
Employers liability for employees outside North America
*based on the worker's compensation where the employee resides
EMERGENCY TRAVEL MEDICAL
Emergency medical coverage beyond Foreign Voluntary Workers' Compensation. This policy covers named persons 24 hours for the duration of travel. Expect:

Documentary Industrial Commercial Educational (D.I.C.E.)
The DICE policy is an annual policy to encompass all productions completed in a 12-month period, including but not limited to documentaries, commercials, educational videos, low-budget non-action/stunt productions, short-films and/or reels.
DICE polices are annual policies based on projected gross production costs (GPC) over 12 months and include coverage for owned and non-owned equipment.

DISTRIBUTOR'S E&O
An annual E&O policy protecting distributors from lawsuits alleging, for example, invasion of privacy, copyright infringement, plagiarism, libel, slander, trademark infringement, and trade libel, that arises from the material content being distributed.
CYBER LIABILITY
Cyber liability protects against financial and operational losses from cyberattacks, data breaches, and intellectual property theft. Cyber attacks can result in leaked scripts, stolen episodes, ransom demands, and business interruption.
PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY AND MEDIA LIABILITY
Covers content-related risks like libel, slander, invasion of privacy, or media perils in broadcasting/publishing

WEEKLY ACCIDENT INDEMNITY
Are you about to embark on a realty program that involves participants, such as contestants? You may be required to have an Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) and Weekly Accident Indemnity (WAI) policy.

WEATHER
Weather coverage provides financial protection for productions against delays cause by adverse weather conditions such as excessive rain, snow, wind, extreme temperatures, or low visibility. Policies can be tailored to cover specific perils like rainfall accumulation, dry hours, temperature thresholds, or wind speed, and must be purchased at least 14 days in advance
WORKERS' COMPENSATION
Workers' Compensation (WC) is a no-fault protection for crew and often a mandatory coverage for employee injuries/illnesses arising from work on production. This policy is usually provided through the payroll company. If no payroll company is used, WC is acquired in the province or state the production is in.
